Building Wooden Toy Cars in Michigan for Operation Christmas Child
From Maleny to the World: Unlocking the Sound of Australian Timber
For over 30 years, David Linton has been revealing the hidden beauty of Australia’s unique timbers. With his Wood-Mizer LT40 and RazorTip blades, he mills rare species like Blackwood, Bunya Pine, and Red Cedar into tonewoods prized by guitar makers worldwide. “The colours, the figure, the surprises inside — it’s mind-blowing,” David says. His careful process — air-drying for years before finishing — ensures that every log is treated with patience and respect. The result: timber that travels from Maleny’s forests to global stages in the form of world-class instruments.
