The 2005 Personal Best contest was a true testament of Wood-Mizer owners and their ability to build great things. As each application arrived, we eagerly opened it to see your accomplishments. And, we opened a lot. We are pleased that this contest continues to grow in popularity and this year was no exception. We received a notable amount of entries with projects ranging from a single beam mantel to a carpenter's dream home.
Our team of judges gave scores for creativity/ originality, complexity, quality of workmanship, and the overall use of the Wood-Mizer sawmill to complete the
project. Each and every category had fervent competition and the judges found it difficult to choose the winners.
The entries for Category 1, Homes and Major Structures, were particularly astonishing. We received submissions from Wood-Mizer sawyers who built stately residences to striking log homes and even a 23,000 square foot hunting lodge. You can imagine their struggle in selecting winners from entries like that.
Thank you to all who submitted projects. This was truly a memorable contest and we wished we could recognize all of you. Enjoy the following stories and keep up your Personal Best.
